Clinton Wayne is a multi-talented rapper, singer and song writer from Barstow, CA. At the age of 7, Clinton began rapping which was influenced by his mother’s poetry and also by industry artists such as: Rappin 4- Tay, Eazy-E, Dj Quik, LL Cool J and KRS-1. By age 12 Clinton performed in talent shows and received two recording contract offers. Also, entered MC battles scoring first place multiple times and to this day he remains undefeated in battles which took place from L.A. to N.Y.
By 1997 Clinton was working as hip hop director and business manager at 107.9 WFIN Radio in Jacksonville, FL. He also had the opportunity to be in the studio with Bone Thugs N Harmony, Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, Knocturnal, Anthony Hamilton, Pharrell, Christina Milian, and the late great Big Pun.
In 2004, Clinton was indicted by the Feds and was sentenced to 15 to Life. While incarcerated, Clinton finished up the now known classic album “Tsoul Ghetto”, and vowed to take over the game upon release. After months of fighting and the work of God, Clinton was released due to an illegal arrest. Taking advantage of his new found freedom, he set out to do as promised.
In 2005, Clinton signed a deal with Universal Records as a group, which included Frenchie (1017 Brick Squad) and more which landed in Vibe magazine. Clinton’s last release “Regal Muzik”, the follow up street album to the highly successful “Tsoul Ghetto” mixtape moved over 40,000 units and included features from Dr.Stank, Shade Sheist, X.O of Bws, and production from super producer Justin Myracks aka F-Major. Clinton was also awarded artist of the year in 2006, and received album of the year in a category which featured Busta Rhymes and Tyrese. In 2008, in an interview with, The Dogg Pound was asked “Who was the next new artist in the West Coast?” they replied “Clinton Wayne”.
Clinton has been featured on albums with Snoop, Dogg Pound, Bobby Valentino, Z-Ro, Juvenile, 8ball & MJG, Young Cash and more. Set to release the “Bipolar” street album in April 2013, and the “Desert Eagle” album later in the year, be on the lookout for the K.O.D.(King Of The Desert)
